Sri Lanka – Korea Rural Development Administration
Alumni Association was established in Sri Lanka to promote further bilateral
cooperation for the mutual benefit of both countries and all its members.
There are over 85 founder members of the Association who
had visited RDA, Korea as trainees, exchange mission experts, official
representatives, collaborative researchers, honorary scientists, as well
as presenters or participants in conferences, seminars and workshops over
the past two decades.
The SriLanKoRDAA is the fifth Alumni Association of the
RDA organized in foreign countries. RDA has taken the leadership for taking
the initiative and for providing the seed money to organize this important
Association. The RDA, being the lead organization in Korea’s national
agricultural research and extension systems, has a lot to offer to as
well as benefit from Sri Lanka, which too has a diversified agricultural
set-up with fairly advanced research, extension and educational systems.
The two countries had, in the past, implemented successfully many agricultural
projects collaboratively. This was made possible not only because of the
availability of technical expertise but also due to the cultural compatibility
and the warm interpersonal relationship among the scientists of the two
countries.
The founder members of the Sri LanKoRDAA, are committed
to maintaining the solidarity among the members and to contribute the
utmost to ensure the growth of the Association from strength to strength
leading to the achievement of the common goal for the benefit of both
Sri Lanka and Korea.
The office of SriLanKoRDAA was opened at Extension &
Training division Department of Agriculture in year 2007 .
